1.4.1.3. Replacement of a faulty wheel

NOTE The following signs can testify to damage of a wheel: - increase in resistance to rotation of a steering wheel; - the increased vibration of the car; - car withdrawal aside.

To replace the damaged wheel, curtail to the region of the carriageway and, observing precautionary measures, slowly move to the next horizontal platform removed on rather safe distance from a carriageway. The car stop on the carriageway or on the brink of the road with heavy traffic represents danger.

Stop the car on an equal horizontal platform at safe distance from a transport stream and completely turn on the parking brake. Transfer the lever of the switch of ranges to the situation "Park (P)" (parking) (the car with automatic transmission) or transfer the gear shifting lever to the provision of the first transfer or backing transfer (the car with a mechanical transmission) and muffle the engine. Turn on the alarm light system.

Check, that anybody from passengers did not remain in the car, and all passengers were at safe distance from a carriageway. Get a jack, the tool and a spare wheel. Enclose under a wheel which is located on a diagonal from damaged, a protivootkatny emphasis. Protivootkatnye should establish an emphasis in front of and behind a wheel.
