5.3.2.1. Removal

ATTENTION At removal of a steering wheel do not strike blows with a hammer to a shaft. The steering column can be deformed.

Establish car wheels in the provision of rectilinear movement.

Remove a steering wheel a suitable stripper.

By means of a chisel and a hammer make grooves in heads of bolts of fastening of the mechanism of blocking of a steering.

Unscrew bolts a screw-driver.

Dismantle a detail of the mechanism of blocking of a steering (fig. 5.11).

Check

Check the bearing of a steering column on existence of damages.

Check length of a steering shaft (fig. 5.12).

Replace a steering shaft if necessary.

Length: 211,6 mm.

Check operation of mechanisms of an inclination and longitudinal adjustment of a steering column (fig. 5.13).

Be convinced of smoothness of moving of the lever from situation "is unblocked" in situation "is blocked".

Be convinced of reliable fixing of a steering shaft at lever installation in situation "is blocked".

Replace a steering shaft if necessary.
