1.4.4.12. Charge of the storage battery

Before serving or charging the storage battery, muffle the engine of the car and switch off everything consumers of the electric power. To disconnect the storage battery from an onboard electric network, at first disconnect the plug from a negative contact conclusion of the battery. At connection of the storage battery to an onboard network attach the plug to a negative conclusion of the battery in the last turn. Before charging the storage battery, check, that the cover was removed.

If the storage battery was discharged for rather short time, for example, because headlights burned too long at the idle engine, it is necessary to charge the storage battery for an appreciable length of time the small charging current which size depends on capacity of the battery and charger capacity. If the storage battery is discharged gradually because of high electric loading in use the car, it is necessary to charge the storage battery the normal charging current which size depends on capacity of the battery and charger capacity.
